Crystalline Nanodomains at Multifunctional Two-Dimensional Liquid–Metal Hybrid Interfaces

Two-dimensional (2D) liquid–metal (LM) heterointerfaces with their tunable physicochemical characteristics are emerging platforms for the development of multifunctional hybrid nanostructures numerous functional applications. From this perspective, functionalization LM galinstan nanoparticles (NPs) crystalline nanodomains is a promising approach toward synthesis novel 2D unprecedented properties. However, decoration desired nanocrystalline structures challenging process due to simultaneous and intensive interactions between liquid–metal-based metallic nanodomains. The present study discloses facile method growth at heterointerfaces. In sonochemical-assisted method, acoustic waves provide driving force ultra-fine on surface NPs. NPs were initially engulfed within carbon nanotube (CNT) frameworks, prevent reactions surrounding environment. These CNT frameworks furthermore separate from other products sonochemistry reactions. following material characterization studies demonstrated nucleation various types polycrystalline structures, including Ag, Se, Nb functionalized showed electronic photonic originated interfaces.
